Noella Childbirth Preparation™ classes are unlike any other childbirth class. It is not a method but a system of classes to educate a pregnant mother. These childbirth classes fully prepare a mother whether her choice is to have pain relief or to have a natural birth. Classes are divided into two categories: Early Pregnancy Classes and Labor & Birth Classes. Classes rotate and are continuous, so you can start with any class. All classes incorporate class participation and audio/visual aids to enhance learning.
There are a total of 10 classes that can be completed in as little as six weeks. There are 4 Early Pregnancy Classes that meet at least once a week and 6 Labor & Birth Classes that meet at least once a week. Be sure to download the calendar so you can find class times that are most convenient for you. Classes are kept to a minimum size so please register for classes early. Please check the calendar for your area to find out how to register.
Early Pregnancy Classes
These classes are designed to help you maintain a healthy pregnancy both physically and mentally. Topics covered are: Nutrition & Exercise, Understanding & Enjoying Pregnancy, Routine Hospital Procedures, Developing and Maintaining Positive Relationships with your birth attendant and as a couple.
Labor and Birth Classes
These classes are designed to prepare mom and her partner if available to manage labor contractions. Even if you are planning to have an epidural, you will still have contractions and discomforts to deal with. It takes time to be permitted to receive an epidural and the anesthesiologist needs a reasonable amount of time to arrive, time must be permitted for the epidural to go into effect once inserted. Also many physicians want epidurals to wear off to allow for more efficient pushing. These classes will help prepare you for that. Many more women today are choosing to have a natural birth. If you are planning a natural birth, all of the Noella Childbirth Preparation™ classes will more than prepare you for a natural delivery. Topics covered in the childbirth classes: 1st Stage Labor, 2nd Stage Labor, Flexibility and Planning for Birth, Postpartum Issues, 1st & 2nd Stage Review, Labor Rehearsal & Introduction to Breastfeeding.
Fees For Classes
The above classes are $10.00 each; there is no additional fee for your partner. Payment is made when you come to class.
Items to Bring to above classes:
Notebook and pen, pillows and a blanket or towel to sit on in the Labor & Birth classes.
